Miss Gwen began her journey at DESPA a decade ago in our Elementary Program as a student! While she was a student, she began assistant teaching in our PK Classes. She took training through Ms. Melanie to learn how to work with different ages and abilities while progressing through our Pre-Professional Program.

 

She was accepted in UNCSA under DESPA training and performed many roles in our annual Nutcracker Tea including the Spanish Lead and Sugar Plumb Fairy. By August of 2021, she became a Substitute Teacher for PK Classes. In 2022, she became a faculty member, where she worked with both our Elementary and PK Classes as adjunct faculty while being part of our Competition Team performing solos and duets.

 

She has won many top overall awards for her technique and performance execution. Currently, Miss. Gwen works with our PK program, Competition Team Minis while working and training.
